1990 – Award of the Hakone Open Air Museum named after Born in Japan. 1991 – Grand Prix of the Hakone Open Air Museum named after Henry Moore, Japan.
1991 – New Delhi Triennial of Arts Sculpture Award. 1993 – Sulmona – Award of the President of Italy for the portrait of director Federico Fellini.
2002 – Grand Prix in Paris.

Georgi Chapkanov is the author of medals, coins and co-author of the national emblem of the Republic of Bulgaria.
